After Israel repented and stoned Achan. Joshua then reattached Ai using what we would call today “the Powell doctrine” of overwhelming force. He upped the force from 3,000 to 30,000 and used some surprise tactics vs a direct frontal assault. The Israelites killed 12,000 people that day. This is really the only place a specific body count is given so I will use it as a basis for the population of other walled cities in the area. To make the math easy, I will assume a city has 10,000 people with about 4,000 of them in the “army”. No Israelite casualties are mentioned.
