The flood story has a lot of interesting small details in it.
Noah and company boarded the ark a week before it started to rain (and it may have never rained before). It rained and springs opened up for 40 days. The flood waters got to 15 cubits (~22 feet) deep above all terrain and didn't start to recede for 150 days. The ark hit ground after about 6 1/2 months, but it took another 5 months or so before it was dry enough to get off the boat. All totaled, they spent 12 1/2 months on the ark.
He took a male and female (2) of every unclean animal and 7 of every clean animal and bird. Some translations say 7 pairs. The reason for the 'extra' clean animals was for sacrifice after the flood.
In the covenant God makes with Noah after the flood, He gives permission to eat meat. Before that, had all mankind been vegetarians or only the followers of God?
Everything on the ark was specifically either male or female. No hate here, but no LGBTQ stuff either. Interesting that the symbol used by the LGBTQ movement is the symbol of the Covenant God makes with Noah after the flood.
