Psalms
Psalm 12 seems very relevant to me. In it, David sees his people growing away from God. I feel the same way today. I think we have established church on Sunday as a kind of vacation away from our normal lives. I think that for many, the lessons that can be learned are too distant from today whether as history or as our inevitable but distant future. Faith has to have a relevant place in daily life. I think this is a barrier for many to return to or come to faith. You can tell by the number of psalms David wrote that he had a daily faith. How can we show our daily faith to those in our community who desperately need God’s saving Grace?

Re: Psalms
What I am getting as a great comfort is God still addressing David as His "beloved servant" even as David was a murderer, a liar, an adulterer and a failure to uphold the law, even when his own son Aman raped his daughter Tamar and he did nothing, causing the rebellion of Absalom to revolt (he might have anyways), but it gives me comfort that God restored David after a contrite heart.
What a broken and smashed family, and a scorn from all the nation against David, and yet, because of David's honest heart of real repentance, God still called Him "beloved" ... Solomon, who knew all of David's sins, called his father, "God's servant."
Good to know.
I am David and his sins, and I am Solomon in his also.
Redeemed is a wonderful thing.
