Greetings Bible Adventurists,
Today we read, “It is finished.” It has taken only 43 days to read all 4 versions of the good news of Jesus’ earthly life and ministry. We now are beginning the story of how the early church started and Paul’s conversion and missionary trips. There are a lot of ups and downs as the Apostles try to grasp their very real and very active roles and responsibilities in God’s master plan for His church. These men show us bold actions of faith in the face of social (Jewish) and governmental (Roman) resistance. Today, we still find social and governmental pressure against God’s word and the activities of His church. Let us use the examples of the Apostles to inspire us to bold action to spread God’s word, live by His rules, and pursue His kingdom here on Earth.
In that vein, please vote. Voting is one way we can influence our society to be more accepting of God’s Word and our lifestyles as Christians. Please remember to let the Bible guide your politics and not let the politics guide your faith.
Tom
p.s. If you are interested in reading through again next year in a different translation or would like to give a Bible to someone as an invitation to join us, I advise you to get your Bible early as there is a big demand for them as the New Year approaches. The publisher of the Bibles available at our church is Tyndale and they offer 3 translations in the 365 chronological format. There are other publishers and many electronic versions (apps) that have 365 chronological versions (although they may have slight differences in daily readings).
