Welcome to Job, one of the most interesting stories in the Bible. It alooks in on what seems to be God having a staff meeting. Then satan shows up and it doesn’t seem abnormal for him to converse with God about business.
The Book of Job is not easy to read, however. Ok, that could be my Oklahoma public education, but I get lost in the prose. I find it helpful to take simple notes. I try to write down the main critique and suggestion in each of Job’s ‘friends’’ speeches and Job’s responses. These quick summaries allow me to think about the arguments and not the poetry. Job really wants to state his case directly to God. Be careful what you ask for.
Later, God mentions a couple of unusual animals: Behemoth and Leviathan. I’m not sure what these are, but to me they kind of sound like dragons or dinosaurs. In any case, they are unfamiliar. See what you think these might have been.
Thanks for joining me on this adventure. I hope you are enjoying it so far.
